Linux · native build

Make Reflex
from source.

Build the standalone native command on Linux when you want the latest version or prefer not to use the Debian package. The finished command runs ordinary Reflex files without Python.

01

Open the Reflex project

Download or clone the project, then open a terminal inside the project folder.

$cd ~/reflex
02

Install Rust once

Rust is only required to compile from source. Anyone who uses a released installer does not need it.

$curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf https://sh.rustup.rs | sh
03

Build the native command

Restart your terminal after installing Rust, then make the release build.

$cargo build --manifest-path native/Cargo.toml --release -p reflex-cli
04

Run Reflex

The executable is ready immediately. Use it with an existing Reflex file.

$./native/target/release/reflex run examples/hello.rflx

Want a system package instead?

Use the published Debian/Ubuntu download from the downloads page. It installs the same standalone native command so you can simply run reflex run hello.rflx.

For a production release, build with the release workflow so the package is tested and distributed consistently.
